In a recent blog post I read about the topic. This made me think about how educators develop curriculum that will best suit the online adult learner.
Something brought out in the post is the necessity for an overhaul of all online courses where the student is passive but the instructor is not. I agree with this statement because we as instructors should be encouraging our learners to be more active in the learning process. There should be more pull from the students instead of pushing information from the instructors. There should also be more interaction between students to promote a dialogue of information evaluation.
As with the author of that post, I enthusiastically suggest, we has educators must step outside the box and develop innovated methods to teach and inspire learning. We cannot just rely old methods to teach in our vastly changing environment.
